FingerPost

3-way Fingerpost

During our recent Open Days, it gave us a good excuse to take some photographs of our signs in and around the premises. We’ve updated our signs outside, by creating a “sign village” showing different types of signs, including Infocurve, Lynester Noticeboards, Post & Panel, BigBox, EcoVision Post & Panel and our Fingerposts (as above photograph).  You can see some of the others on our Flickr Gallery

We also hosted a very successful meeting for one of our customers who were able to utilise the premises for their meeting and receive product training at the same time.

If you would like to use our facilities to host a meeting, or see some of the examples of work we can manufacture and supply, please feel free to pop down.

Ready for our open days

DSCF0003

I think we’re just about ready for the open day now

really looking forward to it and seeing so many people

that we haven’t seen for a while. We’re just about

ready (I think), couple more jobs and then a quick

tidy up on Monday morning, ready to see everyone

Tuesday. Hope you can make it, but if you can’t make

it on either 15th or 16th September, you are always

welcome any time. We are showing some new and

old products, together with some revamped ones;

so there should be something for everyone. Ann and

Sue are organising all the food - which I’m looking

forwared to already.

Grub Screws

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Sue's sorted grub screws Do you remember a few weeks ago when Sue knocked over all the grub screws - well just before she went on holiday she had managed to sort them all out again! Being quite proud of her achievement and wanting to show me, she called me downstairs to show me - only to nearly knock it all over again! Fortunately she didn’t, much to the amusement of everyone elso on the shopfloor.

Talking of the shopfloor, we are continuing our improvements on a weekly basis. We have just had a Health & Safety check as well, which highlighted some further improvements we could make. We are using the quieter months to get all the improvements carried out, before the beginning of September, when traditionally we see the start of a busier time up to Christmas.

Just Rewards

mouse-0021

So there I was, in the office, baking hot day and only 5 minutes to go before lunch. And as you may know from my previous blog, lunch is not just a time to stuff my face with scrummy sandwiches, but my chance to stretch my legs on Dolbury hill.

Anyway, I made the rookie mistake of answering the phone just as I was about to leave. After a 25 minute conversation with the customer, I started on the quote I had just promised he could have back within the hour, curses!

Fifty five minutes later my duty was done and the quote was hurtling across cyberspace to my expectant customer.

Right, time to get some fresh air. (And look forward to a very short afternoon)

As I walked up the track, my reward for this tireless dedication to my job ran across the path in front of me. The little fella in the picture is a juvenile Field Mouse and if I hadn’t been delayed by the urgent quote I would never have got this great shot.

So there you go, when things don’t go quite as you expected, just look forward to the good things that will happen as a result!

Grub Screws

Lucky Dip

This is what happens when you try to help!

Thought I would tidy up production a bit after a hectic day and moved the trolley loaded with grub screws  just a fraction to sweep the floor.  Big mistake, it fell over and they spilled out of their neat little compartments onto the floor in a big heap.  When I started managing production in January I didn’t know one end of a grub screw from the other.  Well, I certainly do now and I will be sorting them back into their little compartments from now until Christmas!  Sue.
