Firstly, the ‘sickly shade’ – I’m just recovering from a viral sickness which has been a real ‘pig’ to get rid of; I’ve done my bit for medical research though, having contributed a donation for analysis and possible inclusion in the next generation of Flu vaccines!

EcoVision - Solar Powered Noticeboard

 Second shade of Green has a more ‘natural’ feel about it. My eldest son, George, an ‘A level’ student at Gordano School, North Somerset came home after lectures yesterday and said “EcoVision”  - that’s one of yours isn’t it?

With some surprise (never knowing what teenagers take in), I replied, “Yes, how…why what etc!!” It transpires that the School are having a ‘ZERO Power Day’ on July 17^th & their Head of Faculty for ‘Design & Technology’, Mr Paul Wilson, had incorporated our innovative product within his lecture about alternative power solutions etc and had a slide showing one of our models!

I went onto our website – is it one of these – “No” said George – “it was a close up shot , unless cropped” – quickly moving to our ‘Flickr Image Gallery’, he pointed out this one as the most likely, to which I commented – “ this has been modified already – the movement sensor is really small now & is within the unit!” – “That’s good” he said!!!!

 It is pleasing to learn that our expertise in product design incorporating environmental issues is being discussed with the future ‘Earthkeepers’ of our Country!

 Following our successful open day last year we will be holding another one this September, spanning two days 15th & 16th September. We will be opening our doors so everyone can see production, including our powder coating department. Come and speak to our staff and enjoy some refreshments.

 Many of you will have been following our progress on our Solar Powered range of products here at Signscape. We will continue to to develop this further over the year and will have new products out very shortly.

We have been trying to recognise our own environmental impact, both as a company and individually.  All of our packaging material is recycled, including shredding office paperwork for packaging.  If business’s are genuinely interested in reducing energy costs, but still want to  inform customers day or night we believe our Solar Powered products fit that bill.

After knowing each other for more years than we’d care to mention, John Cosham has joined Signscape.  John brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role – with many of our customers already knowing him. His primary role will be to go and meet our customers and ensure they have all the relevant information on Signscape products and services, but more importantly to see if we can help you with any part of sign making.

EcoVisions in manufacture

 As most of you are aware Signscape  have been developing our “EcoVision” over the last 18 months – all down to you! Sometimes we are so busy, being busy we don’t have time to say “Thank you” – so a big thank you to all of our customers that have offered advice, support, encouragement and come up with some great ideas in the process.

The current units have come on a long way since then, with built in PV cells, built in PIR devices and a host of other improvements, that you have helped us develop.

In the background to this photo you can just about make out Lee and Jeremy discussing the new smaller units which are now available (654mm wide x 1043mm high), these will be on general sale in the next month.
