  The above two pictures show the stages of completing this fingerpost, which is a 1200mm wide x 450mm high chevron arm, fitted with our Post Bracket, which in turn gets clamped to a post using TamTorques. This is about as big as these go, without putting undue strain on the supporting post (which may have to be re-inforced in windy/coastal locations)

The panel and bracket were powder coated black and then applied double-sided reflective graphics.

Jeremy carrying out maintenance

All of you that have been following our Blog and developments on the website are aware that last year we purchased our neighbour MH Powder Coatings and then moved the plant into the Signscape Factory – something I wrote about back in October last year.

When we took the Powder Coating side on, I probably didn’t look into it sufficiently in terms of maintaining the oven, keeping in clean – to ensure no inclusions in the work. It has definitely cost us time and money (more than we planned for).

We invested in some new kit to ensure that it runs smoothly and efficiently and now put new day to day procedures in to ensure that everything is as clean as it can be.  Thanks to everyone who has given us advice on this, particularly Jim Kearse – who is a fountain of knowledge on all things painting.  It is great to now be able to offer this service in-house and keep improving our quality and efficiency of our painting. Also a big thank you to Jeremy for all his hard work, research and determination in getting it right!

Sign Making Supplies Profile: Column Plates

We have finally managed to sort out our Column Plates and they are ready for sale to everyone. They will be added to the website shortly, but in the meantime if you need any further information give the sales office a ring on 01934 852888.

 We can supply an easy to use installation guide, (which is shown on our flickr site at the moment) together with a price list, both of which are in pdf format and can be emailed to you.

These plates are so simple to install – you just use a Tam Torqueor banding tool at the back of the sign which can be easily clamped to a lamp column or similar.

All the plates are 150mm wide and can be cut to any length, although we are offering four standard heights:

250mm

350mm

450mm

550mm

All plates are pre-powder coated white or black, then cut to length and are supplied fully graphiced from your artwork supplied. They can also be supplied in a reflective version. Email sales@signscape.co.uk for more information. If you have any thoughts or comments, please let me know.

Lee "fettling"

 Caught Lee fettling this morning! (preparing metal for paint), I’m still getting used to West Country Speak… I simply asked for Lee and one of the lads shouts out “where’s he to?” I shall continue with my Somerset language course shortly…

After the purchase of MH Powdercoatings, we have now set up the new paint plant in the Signscape building – a big thanks to Jeremy for all his hard work. Some great improvements, especially with the treatment plant. We are now able to offer wet spray and powder coating all under one roof. Dean is busy painting all day now!
